Default probably a stupid question...

ok i am ready for new tires, but i dont know what size i can get because i dont know what size my rims are (the width of them) they are not stock rims, and they were on the car when i got it. the tires are just the 245's that come on the car and i would like wider ones but i dont know how much wider i can go cause i dont know the rim size. what is the best way to measure the width of the rim while its still on the car? would it say anywhere on the inside of the rim the size of it? thanks for the help

The wheel width should be stamped on the backside of the wheels.

If you have a 245 tire, you are likely on an 8" wheel, but colin is correct so check there to confirm. You can also read all three numbers on the side of tire and will give you all the info needed to purchase new tires (assuming you are not incorrectly sized now). If you are on an 8" wheel, you will not be able to go any wider than current without incorrect fitment of tire.
