Default tire storage

Hello, I bought some newtake off rims and tires earlier this year and replaced my V6 16" stock rims. Now what I would like to do is put back on my 16" stock rims for winter for 2 reasons 1. to lengthen my tires life 2. to keep my new rims from being all gummed up by road salt and dirt. So, on to my questions. My stock tires have been sitting in the garage layed flat stacked one on top of each other, guess I should have asked before now, but was this an ok method of storage? They have been stacked there since the middle of april, a little over 6 months. If this wasnt a good choice to store them this way will they still be ok to be used for the winter months? Last question, what are the prefered method of storage for tires? My good tires and rims will be off till around May, Any thoughts?

That's actually the way I store mine. When it comes to slicks or any softer tire, you have to store them flat (long term). I just got into the habit of doing it that way.

If the tires are harder street tires, with higher pressures, you could use a tire rack mounted on the wall (although I would rotate them every once in a while).

I always store mine that way too. I keep them stacked in bags in the garage and have never had an issue.

Good to hear thank you for the confirmation I changed them out today and cleaned them inside and out. I dont have any bags to store them in but I went ahead and seperated them with cardboard. I put the stock tires on and they seem to be running okay. I didnt take them out for an extended drive yet. I'll do that tonight and make sure the tire pressure is good, even though its 60 degrees today we are expecting snow tommorrow so I'm glad I got it done today... Thanks again for the info
