I bought a set of four 17'' Cobra Rims off Craigslist this summer from a guy with a Cobra. I need 2 back ones really bad and I've already had the front replaced about 2 months ago for the winter with "Ventus 245/45/R17" .

But the back rims are 10'' wide I'm pretty sure. Right now I have "280/40/R17 Nitto Extreme ZR NT555" on the back.
I recall the tire store telling me they weren't the right size though? does anyone one here know? The tire peoplw wont tell me unless i buy there... gay!

285/40-17 is probably your size. It will fit on a 10" wide wheel.

As stated, probably a 285/40 on the back. There's no such thing as a "280" series. That tire on the rear will be fine. If you wanted you could go down 1 size to a 275/40 or up 1 size to a 295/35
