What tires and wheels will fit my stock 82 GT

Can anyone help me with wheel and tire sizes that will fit my stock suspension '82 GT hatchback?I would like to upgrade to a newer style wheel and tire package.

You can run up to a set of 9" wide wheels with a 245 tire on your Fox Body

The tire diameter should be 25.6" to retain clearance and a 245/45 on 17" wheels is pretty common. You can go a bit larger, but will take some other work to avoid rubbing.
