Tire clearance

Tire clearance
I've asked this before, but perhaps it was not in the appropriate forum. I think I've finally made up my mind on staggered 18" black Saleens on my '02 MG GT.
My question is, with the 275/35-18 and 285/35-18 tires, should I be worried about clearance and/or rubbing? If so, what can I do to correct (or better yet, avoid) this? I'm planning on lowering it with H&R SS Springs coupled with Bilstein HDs, if that helps.

I would recommend you go with a set of 30 series out back and will have no issues of rubbing out back, so long as these wheels are meant for your model year. As for fronts, a 275 tire is very likely to rub on the 9:00 & 6:00 position of your fenders. There is a "tab" that sticks out and will want to bend these over a bit to assure clearance. Also, if you are looking to improve your cornering, I would recommend you go with a narrower tire anyway. Go 256 or even 255 to lessen the roll-over of sidewall on hard cornering. Keep in mind, that if you have ABS brakes, keeping the tire diameter within 1" will greatly limit the issues of them kicking in too soon on harder braking.

Well, I got my tires put on about a week ago and they look mean as hell! Though sure enough, today I noticed rubbing on the front tires [even without turning sharp] on what I predict might be the fender wall. Perhaps I'll have to roll it. I wish the tire package I bought from AM could be modified (decrease/increase tire dimensions), so I could've followed your advice.
Regardless, my concern still lies primarily with the H&R SS springs. Though I absolutely love the look of the drop, and I have yet to read a negative thing about them, I'm worried that it will be TOO much. Do you have any better suggestions? This is my daily driver, and not just a car to take out on the weekend for show.
