Wheel/Tire Question, 2005 Mustang, Rear Only
I have researched this a lot, recently, but not found exactly the information I want. Hence, the new thread.
I have 255/45/18s now, on 18x9 Bullitts. I reeeeeeeeeeeeeally need (*need*) something wider on the rear, now. I didn't want to stagger... but I must.
I'm currently 95% locked in on 285s on 10s... but I'd like to go with 295s on 10.5s. My rear is, if I recall correctly, lowered by 1.2" and I'm wondering if the wheels/tires would fit in the well, stick out by a little (or a lot), or what? Also... any ideas on the offset I should make sure I get?
I even contacted wheel and tire places (big names) on the 'Net... and was directed to hit the Mustang forums, due to the level of expertise I'd find (as I know). :-)
Thanks, folks.

I have a 2014 V6 which is the same platform but it might be slightly different due to the redesigned panels. I am at about a 1.7" drop in the rear (Eibach sportline springs) I am running 20x10 AMRs in the rear with 285s and have never had an issue with rubbing or anything. I think a 295 would be the perfect tire to completely fill the wheel well and sit flush on a 10" width. Im sure its not going to be a HUGE difference with another 1/2", but it will stick out a hair on the 10.5" width. Rubbing will no be an issue with a 1.2" drop because I have never had a problem and I am roughly a half inch lower.

By comparison to the GT500 wheels at 18x9.5 ET+45, maybe look for 18x10.5's with something like +50 offset or a bit more. The 10.5" wide Enkeis that Sam Strano sells are something like +38 offset and won't even be close to what you need.

Thanks, Norm. Good to know, about the room that's left.
