Default Your largest rear tire size

Hey all,

I'm curious, what is the largest tires you've been able to put on the rear of your stang without any modifications? I'm rockin 245's on the back. I'll be building up my top end soon and want some more grip for the increase in power.

I have 255/35R17 mounted on 9" Cobra R's on my back. I'm still running the quad shocks and there's about a 1/4" gap yet between the two. I can't remember the back spacing on these rims as that makes a difference too.

Ok, I should have mentioned 17x9 Cobra R's. I want to go a bit bigger without rubbing the quad shocks.
88 orangepeel, thanks for letting me know what you got on the back, that's been a good combo for you so far?

take your quad shocks off and throw them in the garbage.

17x9 can go out to a 275/40/17.

start looking for quality aftermarket control arms (READ: Not some cheap bull**** with poly bushings)

Sounds like a plan and yeah they should definitely help with grip and hop, any recommendations? I was thinking Whitelines...pretty sure they don't have poly bushings.

Thanks for the recommendations. They look like quality pieces and will probably be the ones i get. I'll throw those quad shocks out or see if someone will pick them up for a few bucks and get the control arms in and bigger tires! They're a little pricey but you get what you pay for.
