Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
Needed a car bad when I picked this up. Ran good for $1000 with 48k on the odometer. Fixed a mirror and new brakes to put it on the road and thus a daily driver was born. I have had to replace the sunroof, repaired the headliner and sun-visor, replaced the transmission (shift-fork retainer clip came off), the alternator, the clutch, the oil pan gasket, the water pump, fuel pressure regulator, temperature sending units, catalytic converter, the list goes on and on. Car runs great when it's right, but it's wrong a lot.
Suspension Modifications:
Slight camber on rear wheels to compensate for really bad understeer during hard cornering that sadistically turns to oversteer at which point the car feels like it wants to roll because the rears grab once the suspension settles. Sticks pretty good now with less schizophrenic behavior, but still lots and lots of body roll and brake dive.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Stock dimensions. Cooper CS4s, 195 60R15, which actually improved the traction quite a bit and good in the rain too. Changed to silver 6-spokes for appearance reasons. 1/2" wider, not much difference there. Never much liked the swirly 15" wheels it had originally so great improvement IMO.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Painted bright red matte finish (originally a hideous gold), removed much plastic and trim to cut weight and improve appearance. Added tow package for small trailer. Car looks pretty good now with everything shaved and no spoiler, with spoked wheels. Vast improvement over original anyway.
