Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
This is a vehicle that is IDENTICAL to our 'family car' - a 1973 Chevrolet Caprice Estate wagon; which my dad bought new in 1972. It stayed with us until my mom traded it in for a new Chevette in 1980.
"We saw the USA in our Chevrolet!"
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
The car had the 402 "big block" V8 - actually an engine built in 1972, and was not supposed to be available on 1973 cars. The '73 Caprice had a 350 small-block V8 or a 454 big-block.
The transmission was a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic 400, which was very common in that era.
Suspension Modifications:
Bone stock.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
L78-15 'bias belted' tires came with the car (now they'd be labeled as P235-75R15) from the factory - whitewalls, of course!
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
That nice GM factory "woodgran" look was so hip back then.
Future Modifications:
That car has probably been crushed and recycled long ago - and likely contained enough steel to make five of today's small cars. Read more ยป
