I know a guy that just got out an eight-year run with the Marines. He was stationed in Iraq for 18 months and spent most of his time behind a desk and usually didn't have to do too much when it came to physical endurance tests. He underwent Marine and Navy SEAL training and he had a gun that apparently that the SEALS hadn't gotten yet because of his branch in the Marines. Oh, and he got a 97 on the test. Why would they tell someone that they can't be in the Marines? They'd just give them a cushy job doing something with computers. If you've ever talked to a recruiter you'd know how competitive they get from one branch to the other.

You know what.. this thread makes me want to do the following:

Get in my American Made Mustang, drive 80 down the freeway burning gas and rubber until I get to my house here in the great state of Texas! Yee Haw! Then go inside and lay on my couch, drink a beer, eat big fat greasy bacon cheeseburger while watching TV!

YAY! Now I have plans for the weekend. But no matter what I still won't buy an electric supercharger, that would be like putting a hairdryer under your hood.

Hrrmm.. considering that I was a diver in the Corps, that went through BUDS, and have worked with most of the security forces, recon battalions, Force recon companies, STAY platoons that are out there, and am in Iraq right now working as a contractor, there are only a couple of weapons we use/usedd that the SEALS didn't use, and it wasn't because they hadn't gotten them yet, the SEALS tested them and didn't like them. Wasn't good enough for what they needed but it was perfect for what we needed. And for the guy that said his coworker told him he got denied because he made a 95? He's full of sh!t.. You have to have at least a 120GT score on the ASVAB (sp?) just to get INTO most of the SF related MOS's.  I'd say the guy that was runnning his mouth was a pussy that just didn't want to deal with the Corps..

And to paraphrase the almighty Jack Nicholson from A Few Good Men (note I said paraphrase, not quote, big difference), LOL, "Mister, I live three hundred yards from 2 million Iraqi's that are trying to kill me. If you think you can come down here, flash your badge and make me nervous, you're an idiot."

    Yeah...another S197 thread....

Just to clarify from an earlier post, the GXP wasn't supercharged.  It had the LS4 5.3L V8 making 303 hp.

...and yes, the 2005 GT was just the 3800 series OHV motor making 200 hp.  Unless the OP has a sixxer, there's no reason they should lose to that car...

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.
