What's with this place? Is there really that few SVO owners on this site? I'd think with nearly 50,000 members thare would be more action here. To those with SVO's, tell us about your car. Year, color, condition, miles, mods, track times, and maybe some pics? I'll start:

1985 SVO Mustang
Jalapeno Red 2r, is in decent condition with 95,000 miles, bone stock went 15.4 at the local drag strip.

1985 SVO Mustang
Medium Silver Metallic 1B, has had a rough life and is getting rusty, with 85,000 miles, with mild mods went 14.26 at the local drag strip.

The red car...

Hey fordman mines for sale, it's in the classifieds but dropped fast. It's an 86 with 136,000 miles, black, has a couple mods but nothing crazy.I've never taken it to the drag strip but did pretty well in soloII.

Hey all, just came across this site.

I recently purchased an '86 SVO that's lead a rather hard life. I haven't had a chance to get it to a dyno or track yet but I can run down a list of what's been done to it.

T3/T4 Hybrid
TC Intercooler
65mm Throttlebody
Ranger roller cam
E6 Exhaust Manifold
Mild port/polish Intake/Head/Exhaust
Full 3" Exhaust
I can't recall what injectors but they are a higher flow than stock

Maximum Motorsports control arms front/rear
Urethane bushing all around

The previous owner put a 2 stage boost controller in it and right now I have it set to 10 and 15 psi. I'm still getting used to how the car pulls when it builds boost.

The car needs paint, and little trim items. The biggest thing that I haven't been able to find is an original or aftermarket SVO spoiler.

I have an original upper wing off of an '86 (I think). Is the lower spoiler on your car svo specific? The lower spoiler is different than the GT or 87-93 lx's. Make me an offer.
-P.
PS: I also have a nose and both front fenders for an '86. The spoiler is red the front end and fenders are black.

85 SVO, black, 75k miles, bone stock except for home made boost control, K&N air filter, and some nifty seat covers. Planning on getting this thing into showroom condition within about 2 years or so if everything goes well. Lots of dings in the paint, big dent on the bottom of the drivers door. Missing some exterior trim. And the interior is okay/poor. No headlinder, front seats are coming apart, dash was switched to some after market POS and I'm gonna switch it back to original. I love my car. And I'm only running at 13lbs or so of boost.

Hi all.

Sorry for such a late response but I just picked mine up last month. It's an 85.5 model, med gray exterior. I think it is in good condition but will need minor bodyandinterior work (front seat leather and headliner). It came equipped with sunroof, 104K miles, and bonestock.

1986 SVO! dark gray, all stock......this week!:) i just bough the "big brother" T3. the one with the A/R .63 exahust side. this weekend im rebuilding the transmission in it, and now im currently trying to find a good clutch to put back in it. 134,000 miles on the motor. i bought it for $800 and it just needed a radiator(which i replaced with an aluminum radiator) and transmission rebuilD(would grind in second).

Well, I had a 1986 Canyon Red SVO during my senior year in HS. Went away to school the following year and my parents sold it. I still miss that car... Also had a 85 GT before that. Fun times.

yeah finding a good deal is really hard but that doesn't mean that they don't come up. just try looking in all da classifieds where they sell cards. try mustangsvo.org in the classifieds, they usually have them for sale there from all over the country.

02-26-2008, 07:33 PM
I just got the car over the weekend. When I got it the rims were white and it did not shine at all. I went and had the smog done. I drove it straight from the smog shop and did a three inch system on it, no cat with a spin tech three inch race muffler. The car already had a k&n cone filter on it. I dis-connected the knock sensor. I already have an adjustable boost control on the way. Thanks for the compliment on the car.

Trust me, you want want under drive pullies. Sure more HP, but your engine is more likely to overheat when just in stop and go traffic

I have had a little bit of experience. I owned a muffler shop for five yearsand did alot of pipe work for a import shop. They did alot of turbo additions on there cars. I have always liked the SVO, but could not find one out here in Cali.. I think this car is going to be alot of fun. I had alot of fun with the 5.0's I figured it was time for something different. Anybody know where I can get the outside marker lights for this thing?? ORIGINAL: TRBOPWR

I agree with trbopwr. u shold really just relly on ebay for most of the things for these cars since its extremely hard to find things for them. ive been tryin to find the sideskirts w/o the side spats for quite some time and still no luck. but who knows we might just get lucky some...

pretty price for just being one, but if u look u can find both.

TRBOPWR
02-29-2008, 10:47 AM
That one will easily go for $300-400. They reproduce the driver side markers so those are pretty easy to find, but since they don't reproduce the passenger side markers the only ones left are the NOS ones from 20+ years ago...

I rarely post over there, simply go by Jesse. Most of those guys seem to know everything, so they sure don't need the little help I can offer here. :D Mine has only left me sitting once, also at the track. After ~300 off the limiter launches on radials the rear finally gave up. Perfect excuse to put in the 8.8 I had waiting lol

It is in East/Central OH. Actually from Bucyrus which is ~50 miles west. I've been to Indy a few times, went to see the F1 race 4 years in a row. :) Route 30 runs right by both Bucyrus and Wooster, it heads up by Fort Wayne I believe...

live in new york, wouldnt mind buyin a working condition svo... what would i look to spend, and how hard is it to find parts for these bad boys?

TRBOPWR
03-19-2008, 09:23 AM
You could spend anywhere between 2K and 4K on an SVO. Mileage, general condition etc. taken into account. The parts that are getting kinda tough to come by are those SVO specific parts like hood, front bumper, header panel, rear spats, dual wing, steering wheel/center pad, front lights, a few trim pieces. Some of these are reproduced, but not all of them.
