I' thinking of a mustang... hold your fire ..I dig mustangs too. I wanna know more about the BULLITT Mustang
I dont drive my car that often & when I do I miss the manual tranny.... That said I'm considering a hopped up Mustang GT or a Shelby GT or the new Bullitt ( not the GT500 although if money were no object that would be the choice but I'd rasther have another Z06 )
My sources indicate the Bullitt is a better off the rack bargain than the Shelby GT. Unless the dealers mark them up like crazy..... most SGT's are around $36 but the Bullitt suggested prices are $33 the two decent comparisons I've found are .2 secs diff 0-60 times both are thirsty , neither offers a 6th gear & the bullitt has a lower rearend 3:73 opposed to 3:55 for the SGT but the Bullitt will run on regular for daily driving.... If I got a SGT i'd be more inclined to pamper it as a collector but a hopped up GT or even Bullitt would /coild be more enjoyed in the real world on real streets I was wondering ..what do you 'stang guys think about this new BULLITT????

The Bullitt has more heritage than the shelby GT, however the SGT will have more of a collectors value, and you will probably make more money on a sale with the SGT over the bullitt. The SGT out performs the Bullitt, and kills it in the looks department if your into the bumpers, scoops etc. The bullitt handles better on the road over the SGT, and the bullitt has a much better sounding exhaust. The SGT will stand out in a crowd, and the bullitt will blend in until you punch the gas. The prices will probably be the same after dealer mark ups.
2008 Shelby GT500 Ebony Black with White Stripes/Crimson Red Leather Premium Trim/Shaker 500 with Sirius Radio SCT 93 Octane Performance Tuned 468 rwhp and 444 rwtq
I have owned one of each,Had an 07 Shelby GT 5 speed in Performance White,Awesome handling car!Pretty quick,Draws more attention than a naked chick in church! If you are going to buy a leftover 07,And can find one at 33K,Buy it!That being said,The Bullitt rides a little better, but obviously doesn't handle as well. But it can run on either 87 or 91 octane fuel which may be a concern if you drive it much,Has much nicer seats and steering wheel(Gt500 stuff). And is quicker in the quarter by about two or three tenths thanks to the 3:73 vs the 3:55 which is standard in the SGT.Now if you are going to buy an 08 Shelby GT,I'd go with the Bullitt,That's what I did and don't regret it at all!
I'd go for the shelby gt. I went up to my ford dealer and drove one a couple days ago and man they drive nice. A real head turner too. In my opinion ford did an absolutely awful job designing the looks of the bullitt. Way too boring, looks like an ugly v6. SGT FTW.

I would go with the 07 Shelby. You can get a Bullitt at sticker and a 0 shelby for 35-36. Not that big of a difference. In the long run the Shelby will hold more of it's value.

I recently drove a Bullitt and was pretty impressed, much better than my 06 GT. The 3.73 gears, stock cold air and mufflers tuned to sound similar to the old 390 is a great package.
Hum... The Bullitt Package for a $3000 price tag or the Shelby GT package for that same $3000 PLUS an additional $7500
Comparable power improvements Comparable suspension improvements Much better cold air intake on the Bullitt Most of all MUCH better gears 3.73/1 in the Bullitt Straight line or in the corners, The Bullitt will flat spank the Shelby GT!
Bunch of RICE looking scoops, stripes and cheap hood pins and redundant gauges glued to the dash on the SGT Very clean, stealthy Bling and Rice free look and much better seats in the Bullitt
The Bullitt package 54B – Bullitt Package $2879/$3310 Bullitt Total $2879/$3310
The Shelby GT package GT Upfitters Package $2140 Shelby GT Package $7390 Gas Guzzler Tax $1000 WTF is that? Shelby GT Total $10530
This looks like a no brainer for me. Pay $7500 for the Shelby name and a bunch of less than tasteful bling, or pocket that $7500 and drive a very stealthy factory Mustang that will spank and stock Mustang GT or Mustang Shelby GT.
How’s that for an opinion?

I've seen the 2008 Bullitt and the 2008 Shelby GT side by side at a dealer. Both $31K sticker with a dealer markeup of $10K, making both $41K. If I had all the money in the world by just looking at them outside, I'd buy the Shelby GT (Front Fascia, Rear Fascia, Side Louvers and Stripes very nice!). If my decision was based on sitting in both cars and the interior, I'd say Bullitt (Seats, Dash, Shifter are much nicer). If I were looking under the hood, I'd say Bullitt (CAI, Strut Tower Brace and accents are much nicer). When it comes to test driving both (which I did), I'd say Shelby GT! Sure, the Bullitt comes with the 3.73 opposed to the SGT's 3.55s, the nicer CAI on the Bullitt...BUT I had more fun in the Shelby GT. The exhaust sounded way better inside and out too! The Shelby is a bit lower and hugs the ground better IMO. Of course, the choice is ALWAYS entirely up to you. But if you're looking for opinions to help, here's mine...SHELBY GT
Every dealer I've seen in my area, the Bullitt markeup is at least $5K. If the Bullitt was only $32K MSRP, a lot more folks here would probably have one I'm sure.

Boy your dealers pricing is way screwed up. The BASE MSRP on the Shelby GT’s is at $40000+ before any Additional Dealer Markup the base MSRP on the Bullitt Mustangs is at $32000 before any Additional Dealer Markup
The Shelby GT package is $7390 Plus the required upfitters package $2140 Plus Gas Guzzler Tax of $1000 No ADM SGT Total $10530
The Bullitt package is $2879/$3310 No upfitters package required No Gas Guzzler Tax No ADM Bullitt Total $3310
The base package pricing difference without any ADM is over $7000. That your dealer is adding over $10000 ADM on their Bullitt is simply CRAZY since none of them are bringing that kind of money.
A dealer near me has No mark-up on the Bullitt, and has offered me the following Bullitt at $1000 over INVOICE.
Yet that same dealership still has this 2007 Shelby GT in their showroom for $48985.00, that is a big difference of $18091.02, Even if you love the looks of the Shelby GT, it is WAY over priced. Especially when you take into account the workmanship I’ve seen...
Crazy! We are now talking as much as I paid for my 500 horsepower 2008 Shelby GT500 for this 320 horsepower 2007 Shelby GT??? UA Black CC T82 GT Coupe Premium $25104/$27260 With these options 14A - active anti-theft $283/$325 51H - HID Headlamps $457/$525 54B – Bullitt Package $2879/$3310
2 Gal Gas $5.98 FDAF Assessment $420 Destination & Delivery $745
Total Invoice $29893.98 Total MSRP $32165
My cost for the 2008 Bullitt $30893.98 My cost for the 2007 Shelby GT $48985.00

I bought my 08 Bullitt for MSRP about two weeks ago.I had an 07 Shelby GT that I had to sell late last year due to a divorce,It was a kick ass car!I would have bought an 08 Shelby but I couldn't see the 40K price tag.Nice car though. Now if you can find an 07 Shelby GT at MSRP,Factor in all the discounts and the incentivized rate,It is a good deal.Exact same car as the 08 except for color and hood pins.
My cost for the 2008 Bullitt $30893.98 My cost for the 2007 Shelby GT $48985.00
The 07 Shelby GT can be had for 33,000 to 38,000 for the coupes. Not a whole lot of them left. The 08 coupes, 38K to 40K, 08 verts 44K plus. Shelby, Roush and Saleen can't compete with Ford. Anything that goes through Shelby is going to cost more money. 32 to 33K for the Bullitt is a fair price. It may out perform the Shelby GT in the 1/4 mile, but only because it has 373 gears. Runs circles around the Shelby GT.....highly doubtful. We will have to see if the Bullitt is in any racing circuits this season and see how it stacks up against the competition. As far as Shelbys' quality, all manufacturers have issues. The pic shown above is caused from dealers not reading the instructions, "hood pins must be pulled before hood is released". The Shelby GT isn't for everyone. Recently was at Carroll Shelbys' 85th B-Day party, Shelby rented Las Vegas Speedway, you could see how all the cars performed in the corners, the Shelby GT held its own. The Shelby GT out performed it big brother the GT500, hands down in the corners. And if the Shelby GT doesn't have enough power, there are SC upgrades, big brake upgrades, etc. The Shelby GT also will not be seen on every street corner. It's truly a limited Mustang.
Check your facts on the handling. Motor Trend tested the SGT and the Bullitt. The Shelby did .97g on the skidpad and .76g in the figure 8. The Bullitt did .87g on the skidpad and .52g on the figure 8. That is a huge difference in handling. The bullitt is a nice car but it doesnt handle anything like a SGT. Acceleration is very similiar between the two. In the looks department I think most would agree the Shelby wins hands down. I get more compliments then I ever thought I would. If you want something more subdued in the looks department and still has that straight line performance grab up a Bullitt, its still a great car at a more attractive price.

I know I keep posting in here,There is really no comparison in handling. The Bullitt handles well but the Shelby handles awesome.Realizing that the Bullitt is just a FRPP handling pack away from the same thing,If you can get a leftover 07,There are still many in my area,Do it if you like the looks. The Shelby has a harsh ride to most but I liked it.The Bullit is kinda bouncy over light bumps,But still provides some kind of performance in the curves.I took my Shelby through a set of curves at a high speed with no problems.I took the Bullitt through the same set of curves and noticed the rear wanting to roll out on me.The front of the Shelby is kinda low so some entries and exits have to be watched,Not a problem in the Bullitt.
