Default help changing bulb in fog lights

am i supposed to take the front bumper off or something? i followed the instuctions on how to do it in the owners manual, but they want to you bend the grill forward and im afraid its going to snap.

also, it would be a REALLY tight fit to get my hand back there even if i did bend it forward a few inches.

pry the grill off, use a flat head screw driver and pry the tabs until it pops out

It should be that easy. I'm doing the same thing this weekend and will post some pics of the progress. I have had several people ask how to do this. I just received my fogs yesterday but it is currently 1 degree with the windchill andI'm waiting untill this weekend to do the work.

yeah. im in chicago and its below zero here too. i think thats why i may have given up a little too easy when i looked at the fogs.

the headlamps were a breeze though. changed those out in 5 minutes.

Here are the steps that you should follow... The cold temps may make the grill stiff, just work with it. I have a garage for my Mustang but I have no heat in it so it mainly keeps me and the car out of the direct weather.

Replacing foglamp bulbs
1. Make sure the headlamp control is in the OFF position and open the
hood.
2. Remove the sight shield by
loosening the six fasteners with a
flat head screwdriver.
3. Remove the two underhood bolts
attaching the bumper cover next to
the grill and then pull the
cover/grille/foglamp assembly
forward to access the foglamp bulbs.
4. Disconnect the electrical
connector from the bulb by pulling
it straight off.
5. Rotate the bulb counterclockwise and remove from the lamp assembly.
Install the new bulb in reverse order.

those are the instructions i read when i was doing it. the second part of #3, pulling the assembly forward is when the issues arise.

i think ill try to pop the grill out when i get home. i didnt have much luck last night, but ill try again tonight.

it is a pain in the a$$ to take the fog lights out, I did it took like 1 hour. FYI there are 3 tabs I think hidden on the bottom of the grill and I used a few flathead screw drivers to wedge in the other tabs so they all stay open. Also I did it when it was still in the 80's outside and yes you do get cuts/scrapes all over your hands.
