Default 6 Speed Transmission.

I was thinking, for being such a high powered car... Could you put a 6 speed transmission in this car?

Do you think there's a need for a 6 speed, or just keep it to a 5 speed?

5 dpeed is not that bad, although 6 speed would make it more responsive especially at higher speeds.

I think it would be a very costly procedure.

I drove a WRX STI with a 6 speed last weekend and found the gear ratios too close together for my preference. I found going around the track that I had to shift much more often and in places not as conducive to making a shift. IMO the power band is wide enough in the stang to not need the additional gear.

M-7003-T56RP
- T-56 Tremec Mustang Race Package. This is the only transmission package currently approved for Grand
Am Cup racing in a 2005 Mustang. This is the same package used in the Ford Racing Mustang R racecar.
- This package includes:
M-7003-T56R transmission 6 speed
M-5059-R transmission crossmember
4R33-7A508-AA bearing

Gets my Vote.
