For a mild h/c/i car what intake would u use? im looking at some ported e7 heads, custom grind cam, 650 carb, lts.
what intake would u go for then? im looking for power upto maybe 6k? interested in torqe more than high reving.
EDIT: just cruising on summit, i noticed they have there own brand of manifolds. the look SPOT ON to the edelbrok series, anyone have expeirience with them?
Well you have somewhat answered you own question. You want something that goes up to 6k or so they say in the descriptions. Most people use edelbrocks but wieland also makes a good intake. I would go for the performer RPM ( I think that is the one that goes 1500-6500 RPMs) and hell you can also get the cam and intake kit. If you are not dead set on the E7's you can buy a whole head, cam, intake and carb kit by edelbrock from summit for 1500-1700 bucks or so.

well i was just curious what else was out there is all.
what do u think about the summit stage 3(edlebrok rpm air gap clone)
It seems to be an ok intake but if it was me I would choke up the extra 60 bucks and get the eddy instead of the summit. But as you can see there isn't a whole lot of a choice in brands when it comes to intakes. Just remember to get a dual plane manifold or you will bot have sufficient vacuum for the power brakes (same goes for a cam, too agressive and you lose vac).

It may help with you choice
My vote's on the Weiand Action Plus 8124. That's what I run, it'll keep up with the RPM till around 6,000rpm, so if you don't plan on spinning more than like 6.2 or 6.3 it'll have more bottom end and a bit better mileage maybe. You can always move your power around with spacers too.

They compared the Edelbrock intake lineup on a Chevy 350 with AFR heads and a Comp roller cam. Suprisingly the regular Performer made power out at 6,100rpm. The Air Gap did the best, beating the Performer out by 20more peak hp at 6,300rpm and averaging not quite 10 more hp/tq across the rpm range. The Weiand I'm running(8124) in Weiand's test on a SBF 302 with a mild cam and ok heads, beat out the Performer by about 15peak hp/tq and an average of 9hp/tq higher across the rpm range. Apperantly their computer modeling when they designed the thing paid off.

Definately. I've never heard anyone with a valid complaint against them.
Oh yeah, and those rpm ranges they list are almost a joke. Idle-5,500 for the Performer that makes peak power at 6,100? My Weiand is listed as idle-5,500 as well, and it feals like it peaks at around 6,300. And I remember seeing a dyno somewhere where the RPM Air Gap was used, with big heads and a solid roller it made peak at 7,500rpm, a full thousand past where it's listed.

I would check your intake port size and pick an intake based on that. I used a china performer intake on my F-250 it had gt40p heads c-6 short tubes and an fcam with cobra rockers, it made 250 RWHP. 0 to 60 about 6 seconds it ran ok
