Ok so i bought my car approximately a month ago and i love it to death. But one question i want to know is how do i find out if its actually a bullitt?

Its just unbelievable really how much i got this car for. Its an '01 Mustang GT / Bullitt supposively and the guy only wanted 5k for it. It only has about 80k miles on it and im just curious because i dont believe its a bullitt. I bought insurance and had no idea it was a bullitt until they looked up the vin and told me i was wrong  because all i put was GT. Is there anyway to find out for sure without having to spend any money in the process?

P.S. Everyones been telling me i got a steal on it and something must be wrong with it but i've taken it to the dealership and they say everythings perfect on it.

What kinda deal did you get?

If the ins company told you it was a bullitt from the vin then I would bet it is a bullitt.

LOL, he said in his post how much it was, LOL.  He paid 5k for it with 80k miles on it.

Does it have Bullitt on the bottom part of the door jam?  Are the gauges different, like retro style?  Does it have a spoiler or no?

Yes thats a bullitt intake.

$5K for a gt/bullitt (same thing) is very cheap. Whats wrong with it?

Exactly, and as rare as Bullitts are, something has to be wrong with it if its a "real" bullitt.

ye 5k for a bullit with only 80k miles ???? thats even unheard of here in michigan where mustangs are as common as turds in a sewer. If its a bullit it should have a special serial number on the Upper intake manifold or lower part of your trim where the door closes on.

Yea the only way we would be able to help, is if we see pictures of this car. On the drivers side strut tower there should be a badge with "Bullitt" and below it a number. I included a picture of what my badge looks like.

Im not very good with cars to be completely honest im still learning. The engine looks like the GT Engine. The badges on the side are taken off its meant to be a "Sleeper" as they call it i suppose so i couldn't tell you that but the badges just say GT on them when they were.

It does have a spoiler yes.

here are a few pics let me know if u need pics of anything else?

Just by a quick look at the pics and by what you have said I doubt that its a Bullitt unless someone went through a bit of work to make it look like a GT, good luck.

that's kinda bs if the guy said it was a bullitt... Even for the cheap price, I'd be pissed if the guy said it was a bullitt and it wasnt.

yea not a bullitt, the brakes are the v6/gt brakes, it has a hood scoop, side scoops, spoiler, gt/v6 side skirts, and a regular 4.6 intake. all of that could have been chanaged but nobody in there right mind would change most of it.  you need to have a talk with your ins company and the owner because if the vin does come up as a bullitt mustang then something is really really wrong.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''re fast.
