Default NEED WIRING HELP ASAP!!!!

ok, so i am swapping my 88 2.3 mustang over to an 84 gt 5.0 motor. im almost done except for two things.

1) the distributor has 3 wires coming off of it and the harness off the car has 5 wires. what do i need to do to hook this up to my new distributor for the 5.0?

2)someone recently told me that i would have to get the ignition box off of a 84 gt/ v8 to make my ignition work. this is the first time i have heard of this. is that true?

if you can anwser either 1 of those questions i would apreciate it sssooooo much!

well the dist in the 84 was the dura spark crap with the ( brain box) on the fender what harness are you using on the 2.3 the one from the 84 i would assume.
or did you convert it to the tfi module the one with the coil on the fender drivers side and the ignition module on the dist.
hit me up with your answer
