Haha a thread for my truck... w00t!
Well my truck is gonna go thru a few moderate changes so this... is the thread.
Well, its running great... gets me to work and gets me around. I was gonna buy a glasspack for it this paycheck but I needed to pay insurance this month.
That was my usual check though... these last 2 weeks I have been working my ass off and have worked 40hrs each week. So in about 2 weeks, i'll have a fatty check. I am gonna get a glasspack and take it down to the muffler shop and have them put it on and weld it on. I wanna go to a boneyard and find a tailgate for it also. Buy a few little things for it and ditch that stock air cleaner system and get a chrome one. Give it a FULL tune-up and flush the oil system and the radiater. And leave the rest over money for gas and misc...
The paycheck after that, I wanna search craigslist and see if I can find a set of some nice tires (not big ass super swampers, just some nice chrome ones with maybe so wider ones in the back) lmao. And I'll see if i can buy a stereo and some speakers since rollin with a portable CD player, and some computer speakers is pretty gay...
Anyway, this summer I wanna do some body work with it and paint it. (flat black?)
But yeah, one of these weekends when its nice i wanna take it up to the strip and see what i can get for a baseline and then i'll bring it back with a few mods.. (headers...)
Well, thats about it... I'll have to go get some vids and pics of this weekend. I dont have to work. I'll see if I can take a few vids of it tomorrow of my muddin lmao.
Some F150's and bronco's have the 10 hole rims that look nice, or find some '99-2000 Lightning rims(you can find them for $200 sometimes) and then burr out a hole of each to fit.

Any truck rims would be nice. I dont really like the lightning rims too much. I dont want any "4x4" rims either. I want to get some larger wheels in the back so it has the street truck look. But ANY rims are better then the ones i have now lmao.

YES CB RADIO! at least someone besides me still uses the super slam
btw... NO GLASSPACKS... u will hate how they sound... thats what i had on the lincoln first... and i got pissed off at them, pulled them off, and thats how they ended up with pipes shoved through them... u couldn't hear the exhaust at all.. and i still didn't have any cats.... >.<
O.o two 5" stacks coming out of the bed would be sweet

a single exhaust with a glasspack will sound pretty good im guessing. my brother's suburban sounds way better than the average "dualed & flowed" chebby i hear and he's got a single glasspack

Damn right, if it was dual glasspacks it would sound to poppy.... a single glasspack would be more deeper and throatier then duals.
Anyway, I have found some parts I am gonna buy for it. Just a couple power adders. Basically a high performance tune-up. I ordered an MSD dist cap w/ retainer. And on wed I am gonna get some parts from schucks to clean up under the hood. Basically a better flowing air filter with the chrome casing, mallory coil, taylor plug wires, NGK plugs, motorcraft dist rotor, edelbrock fuel filter w/ braided lines, and if I can make the budget, i wanna get some chrome valve covers for $30 they have. And enough oil to flush and refill the motor. (maybe a few cans of seafoam.
Also, 6 cans or more of primer, 6 cans or more of paint, a little tub of bondo to clean up the dent and fix the rust hole on the driver side front fender, and enough clear coat for 2 coats.
For the next paycheck, I am ordering the left and right grill inserts from LMC truck (since mine are all banged up), and a heavyduty plastic tailgate (black).
The weather here right now is ****... yesterday it was in the 70's and now its raining pretty bad. The 7day forcast says its gonna be sunny wed, thurs, and friday.... those are the days I work .
So I was hoping to install the glasspack on thurs or friday before work. I have no idea of the weather next week, but thats when i will see if I have time to do the tune-up and oil change. My parents wont let me use the garage.... that sucks.
And I'll get around to painting the truck whenever I have time and if its NICE out.
But yeah, i have done my shopping over the internet last night and I just need to wait to get paid to go and buy and order it all. I have enough money on my debit to order the MSD dist cap so that will be here soon.

your gonna need more than 6 cans to paint the truck... it took me 7 to do the mustang and 12 to do the lincoln.
btw hellion. if you want good sounding exhaust. put a cherrybomb glasspack on it, not a thrush. or a patriot cherrybomb.
you said it had a 351 cleveland? r u sure its not a windsor? i didn't know they put the clevelands in the f100's.
but if u want the most bang for your buck.. heres what i would do.
edelbrock performer RPM intake edelbrock 600cfm 4 barrel carb ford racing long tube headers complete msd ignition, distributor, coil, and control module. and look into a floor shifter conversion kit. they aren't too expensive.
and change your rear end out for a 3.73 with posi...
ur truck has what a 9" rear, with either 2.83? ratio, or a 3.08 its a 2wd... so its not a 3.55

Just about every glasspack if its the same length and width is gonna sound the same
Remember, its a DAILY DRIVER.... I dont need to completely modify it. I like it the way it is now, I just wanna be above stock. I just want it to sound nice, and look alright. And have a few extra ponies. And yes, its a 351c, it looks way to small to be a 302. On the emission tags and in the door jams it says "351 cleveland 5.8L Gasoline".
And Yep, 9" ford rear end. I dont wanna do a gear swap either, if i make the gears lower, I cant take it on the highway, if I make the gears higher, i wont have as much torque.
Me and my dad wanna build a motor this summer. A streetable 302 to drop in either this truck, or a older Mustang.

The MSD cap/rotor, coil, with new plugs, 8mm wires is a very good idea. Then you can play with the timing and spark plug gap to get better mpg. And if you want more put a Y-pipe in the exhaust.
