so I got my windsor motor running and took it for a spin.. seems to be idling a bit high (900-1000 rpm's) but when I come to a stop it stalls.. if I put the car in park or neutral it idles fine (just a bit high). anybody know off hand what could cause this?

What is your setup??? I take it that you have an auto, which one (c4 or AOD)? Carb or SD?

I just cured a very similar problem on my 83 carbed c4. My fuel filter was getting clogged from all the stuff that has collected in the tank over the years. As soon as I put it in gear it would drop the idle down to like 250-300rpms, have a hard time on take off, and didn't want to idle high enough to stay running when it was cold while in park.
