depends on the driver hun. everyone knows that. you should also.
some sixers stock can touch a stock gt. because of the drivers.
it wouldnt be as easy if the gt wasnt stock and the sixer was but it could be possible.
but its mostly the driver.
Um, not so much. Take ANY v6 to the track against a GT and the GT will beat it.

I'd LOVE to see a stock GT beat a stock Skyline...
Or even a 350Z...
They're both v6's...
And a driver CAN make a huge difference...
Hell...
I beat a heavily modded S2000 in the 1/8th mile last weekend in angleton...
His car shoulda blown mine away...
He just couldn't drive worth ****...
My car was even runnin bad...
It was really hot and humid that night...

Geeze there are a lot of smartasses and idiots on these boards.

Stock for stock a v6 Mustang will NOT beat a Mustang GT. I am also calling BS on your comment for beating a "heavily mooded" s200 with your v6 that has very few mods. A STOCK s200 will run in the high 13's/low 14's with any sort of decent driver. Do you have a vid to back up your claims?

Im sick of my 6ixer.. I mean love it and I think it really is one of a kind.,but I think i have finnaly decided on getting a 2005+ GT vs my 03 6 banger.
Im about to turn 19 and im just tired of it.

1. I only live once and nothing is ever promised tomorrow so why not buy the car of my dreams while im here?
2. you have to pay to play and I understand that..Gas is a bitch but oh well ..style cost money.
3. Even if I do the supercharger package for my 6ixer ..I can only dream of touching a Gt.
4. If i do the supercharger....im forced to use premium gas.

I used to be one of those people who dreamed of owning a v8 with the 6ixer but...I cant take it any more. I cant take damn GT's, Mazda...even a damn saturn effing with me at the stoplight and me having trouble shutting them down.

I figure the GT will be 350-400 per month (Based on my down payment for the GT)+ my damn insurance which is already around 200/month...It'll probally go up to 300 something.

Am I a fool for wanting a GT? ...i mean they dont get much less mpg then us and hell ITS A GT!

Thats my rant..Im just curious as to what is holding some of the guys here back from getting a GT.

Good god, no patience. I wanted a GT when I got my 6er almost 9 years ago (24 at the time). A number of things held me back at that time. For one I didn't want to rent a place, I wanted to BUY a place. Very hard if not impossible to do with a big liability on your back of a GT (Insurance for 25 yr old and under, on their OWN car insurance policy not mommy and daddy's is over 3K a year). Now at 34 I bought an 08 GT. But I also have my house, my pool, my home theater room, etc etc. If I was having to fork out money hand-over-fist at your age for a car I would never have had the money or patience to afford my own place.

Get your priorities in order. A car should be at the bottom if you're still living at home or renting

With those mods I'm still skeptical. I'm sorry man but there is no way you can pull a 2.4 or 2.2 60' and still make all of that up on the top end. I can see your car running a 15.6 but not a 15.1.

I'm running n/a w/stock engine, just all the other stuff, and ran a 14.9 with a 2.2 60'. I believe I can hit 14.7 with suspension and traction.

you must have a lot of weight reduction to run a 15.1

track must be downhill

Look at his mod list versus yours. I can see you running high 14's but he should be in the low 16's/high 15's.

His mods:

Spec Stage 2 Clutch, Diablosport Tuner, Racing Plugs and Wires, Synthetic Oil, Removed Silencer, and Weight Reduction

Your mods:
FRPP 4.10 gears, FRPP Trac-lock, Cold Fusion N20, FRPP 13" front and rear brakes, Bilstein shocks, Spec Stage 2 clutch, Spec billet flywheel, FRPP quadrant, FRPP adjuster, FRPP clutch cable, Bilstein shocks, MAC cai, MAC longtubes, MAC H-pipe, Magnaflow catback, Steeda Tri-Ax, and SCT Xcal2.

And yes, timeslips can be manipulated too. Hence why I asked for a vid.

I'll drive down to HRP to watch you run a 15.1 with the mods you say you have, just give me a date and i'll bring the video camera.

Well it would seem that on here I DO have the fastest, non-p&p, n/a 6er. No weight reduction other than removing the spare, unless a billet aluminum flywheel counts.

Here's my original post from 6/2/07
quote:

Well it's friday night again, time to revive this thread.

WE NEED THIS SUCKER TO BE A STICKY OR SOMETHING!!!

I got my new best tonight, still room for improvement off the line and shifting though. If I can get wheels spacers I can run my drag radials, and new control arms will really help, just need to order some.

60'             2.152     <----CRAPPY!!!!
1/8             9.629
1/8 MPH   72.82
1/4            14.980
1/4 MPH   91.64

Same mods, again, no port work, no juice, all n/a, just bolt ons, full interior, and only 3.55 gears, not 3.73's or 4.10's.

Ryan

I'm pretty sure other people with similar mods can run faster than that, I'm not the world's greatest driver, but I ain't bad.

I agree, but most of that stuff doesn't help and the nitrous isn't on. I also ran with 3.55's not 4.10's. I bolded the things that did help, and i was on street tires. There definately are a lot of factors, I run .2 slower at one track than any other I've ever ran, no matter what.
