Hey, i'll make a long story short, i had a friend rebuild my edelbrock for me which everyone including my dad said was a 600. Anyway, we're sitting there while his rebuilding it and he notices it has huge jets, well we got curious and looked the part # up in a catalog, turns out the guy i got the motor from put an 800cfm carb on a street small block!! So, the reason my car runs rich at idle and leans out on acceleration is because there's too much gas at idle, and then it empties the bowls faster than the fuel pump can keep up on acceleration. I feel so stupid for never thinking of it, but hey crap happens and i'm learning. My question for you is 1. what size carb would be perfect for my setup (mild cam, longtubes, edelbrock single plane torker 289 intake, stock e5's). 2. Do you still have that holley if yours, and if yes would you be interested in trading me or trade me plus i give you some money, we went ahead and kitted it and put it back on so i could drive to class today but if you're interested i can pull it back off tomorrow maybe. Sorry if i seem pushy or something i just remembered that you had a carb for sale, i'm going to be looking around my town for people who would be interested but i don't know anyone who would be able to use it. If anyone else is interested let me know, it's Edelbrock #1413 800Cfm W/Electric Choke.

i have a holley 4160 600 with ford kickdown linkage thats in pretty good shape and an excellent candidate for a rebuild sitting in my garage. if i put a rebuild kit in it and sold it in bolt-on condition i'd take 150 bucks plus shipping if you want it. but to further elaborate on your question, anything from a 570 to a 625 jetted and tuned properly should work for you ok. btw, you should probably email me @ my77stang@gmail.com because my old account here was banned and this one will most likely get the boot soon enough
