Default A4LD

Can you use an A4LD transmission with a 5.0? I know I'd need at least a new bellhousing, but could it work? I'm not looking to run much more than stock when I do get a 5.0, so i don't think I'll need anything super heavy. If I can use the A4LD, then I may be able to get a 5.0 pretty soon. But the main thing that is slowing me down is money, I can't afford a tranny. So will my current tranny work?

It will work, but only for about 10 minutes before it blows up[&:]

Hmm... I better wait until I can afford a C4 or AOD. I've given up on the idea of a T5 swap (don't want to rig anything).

Just one less hassle when I'm doing my swap. I already know that I need to replace the whole wiring harness when I do my swap. I don't have a very suitable garage, I'm going to be doing everything outside with a winch and a tree limb. So, I would do the T5 if I could store the car and tinker with everything.

Yeah, but I want all major surgery done the week I start putting all major pieces together. What is probably going to happen is I'm going to get a 302 and c4 from the guy whose racecar was built by the guy who fixed my chassis. I'm going to fix whatever (if anything) is wrong with the engine and spend some time cleaning it up, testing it, and bringing it up to spec before I actually put the engine and transmission in the car. I don't want to have to pull the engine a week later because of something stupid. I have room in my garage for the engine and transmission, I just can't do the swap in the garage. I kind of worry about this because the last time I did an outside engine project was rebuilding the engine on my VW sandrail during the winter a couple years ago. I always fear that the weather is going to kill the engine.
