Default Help With Problem?????

So my car is acting up I have a 05 and the problem only occures when the gas is a little above a quarter tank. The toolbar light will come on and start putting really bad so i turn the car off and back on and it will be fine for a while then do it again and does it regularly till i fill the tank any know of the same problem or any threads?? thanks

What about the gas cap? I put a locking gas cap on it and took the stock off.

That may be the problem. The manual says the gas cap can throw that light. Put the stocker back on and see if it goes away.

Actually, I just reviewed my manual, there is a special light if equipped for fuel cap.... BUT the is an entire section in the back Maintenance and Specifications section that is written in BOLD not to use any other fuel cap, damage can result, and it can void the warranty. The "wrench" lightis limp mode.

ok well so far its fine i will update if it starts again. does it say what causes limp mode? do you know if they sale hanes manuals for an 05?

I think anything that can cause damage to the engine will throw you into limp. The manual said non-factory caps can cause a vacuum in the tank, and damage fuel system components. If the computer sensed it, it probably saved you some money. As far as a haynes, no haven't seen one. You can look here for info:

I found the troubleshooting chart, and it said to go to chart 12 for the wrench, first thing to check is the fuel cap for the fuel cap light, scroll down and it sends you on goose chase.
