k so im doing a auto to manual swap and i need to get the steering column out...i have already discounected the wires,, dropped the column and took out the 1 bolt holding it together in the engine compartment.....but still the thing will not budge and its pretty much the only way to get the new peddle assembly in, and the old one out.

ANy sujestions would be greatly appreciated

i used a hammer and a chisel and tapped a little to get the two pieces apart. they fit together pretty tight.

ok what side did u do that on, in the engine compartmen? or under the steering wheel

I did the same, used some good kroil to creep inbetween the two, and did the tapping with a hammer in the engine bay. The engine was out though making it alot easier.

I used your average crow bar about 2ft long and set it against the column tube and gave it a few smack with the trusty o'l BFH. I had someone pull from the inside as well it didn't move at first untill there was some strain the same time it was being hit. I am in Canada too so with all the rust on my car it came off that way you should be able to get it. Good luck

spray it with some wd40 let it sit for a while then make the attempt .. i did mine with 2 people ,engine in the car .. couple of taps and someone pulling from in the car ...

haha, ya i just sat there on a stool, and pretended like i was doing rows  it finaly just broke loose and came flying over
