Now most people run into trouble with getting the stock shifter to break loose. However, I didnt even make it that far. Three of the bolts holding the stock shifter came off easily, but the front right one refuses to come off. Its starting to get stripped so i just stopped. I am guessing I should try heating it up somehow but im not sure. Any ideas?
you can try getting the next size smaller socket and hammering it onto the bolt then ratcheting it off...thats what i had to do when i was rebuilding my dirtbike and it worked fine
Here's what you need... Also, in the future, make sure you use quality tools and that the socket is on the bolt squarely and solidly--and NO 12-point sockets, 6-point ONLY...

i got it..i feel kinda dumb...the socket i was using had cracked...i got the first 3 off just fine im not sure what happened with the last one...its ok now. took it for a trial run after install. its definately a lot different than the stock shifter. the throws shorter but it seems to take more effort to shift into gear...is this normal?

That's just plain ol' mechanical advantage--you can't shorten the throw without having it require more effort, fundamental principals of leverage at work...
