sluggish at low RPM
I bought a 91 LX with the 4cyl. It is very sluggish/unresponcive at low RPM (below 2000rpm) once it gets past 2000 it feels and revs like I would expect it too.
What would any of you recomend I look into first, to get it running normal ?

RE: sluggish at low RPM
a tune up never hurts.
plugs
wires
fuel filter
air filter
clean maf, iac, tps
oil change
and it will be running like brand new... not much of a difference tho[8D]

RE: sluggish at low RPM
2.3 turbo
5.0 swap
351 swap
or be different.
2.9L swap
3.0L swap
4.9L I6 swap
the 2.3L NA engine has no potential whatsoever, without any amount of money.
if you want faster throttle response. look into lighter pistons, rods, a lighter crank, billet flywheel, ligheter clutch.

Good luck on a lighter crank, the forged ones weight more than the cast[&:]
gut your silencer, or add a CAI to get a little better response and add a header and exhaust

RE: sluggish at low RPM
OK thanks for your help; Here's how I see it,1st seafoam, then tune. But after that(when I switch this engine into it's new home). I plan to rebuild/refresh the longblock and addK&N cold air,Headers,Lg.exhaust(no cat.),remove unessary drag(PS pump etc...,where it's going don't need one)underdrive pullies,I'l trysome simple porting myself,Lightened flywheel,Aluminum driveshaft, remove the air silencer & EGR system. Thats about it budjet wise.
Any thoughts on my plans so far would be appreciated.
