Default CLOSE CALL!!!!

So I was driving homefrom a buddies last night down the highway. I just got an 04 Cobra last week that came with Hoosier slicks. I haven't gotten around to changing them out. So It was about 1 in the morning and raining. I was going 45 (20 under the limit) and I started to hydroplane. I tried to pull out of it and lost it. So I ended up doing a 720 in the middle of the freeway then ending up on the shoulder. Stariest S**t. But I got lucky and didn't hit anything and there were no other cars around. So moral of the story...don't be stupid like me and drive in the rain with slicks. I woke up today and ordered some new tires.

Did you stick your tongue on a pole in the dead of winter too?[8D]

I'm just kidding....glad you're ok. I've had that happen too in the middle of I95. It's an adrenaline spike for sure! Slicks in inclement weather FTL!

Once you feel like you are starting to rotate, even with slick, can't you just push in the clutch and regain control? Or is all hope lost with slicks+any water on the road?

JarHead! I know a few people that have bit the dust with the same scenario! That's actually how I got the engine in my car.

Ford: My Son, If you keep talking like that I'm going to damn you too Hell.
Me: No thanks Ford, I've already owned a Camaro once.

Similar story happened to me not that long ago, I left my track wheels on while driving home, I was on I40 going 70 and it just started to rain. and the rear end slipped I had the damn thing at opposite lock twice times back and forth until i saved it. after that I slowed down to about to about 40.
