Default Dual exhaust?? Help! (pics added!)

Hi everyone,

My name is Matt and I'm new here.

I'm looking at pulling the trigger on an '05 Mustang Deluxe. The issue is, it's got dual exhaust and I don't think that is stock on these cars. The car is also notibily quicker than the other V6s Mustangs I drove and much throatier sounding. I'm know almost nothing about cars. Can anyone venture a guess as to what what done to the car and how that would effect mileage and overall performance?

Dual exhaust will make it seem like it has a few more ponies, if it as a CAI/Tune then that will definitely make it quicker than stock. There is also the possibility of different gears as well.

Any of those things will help performance, but gas mileage won't be hurt much depending on how you drive. Welcome to MF btw!

^ +1 on what he said look under the hood does it have a Stock air box or a CAI (Cold Air Intake) on it the Stock Air box is big and Black you have to open it to see the filter. An After market CAI has a heat shield but is open and you can see a Can type Filter on the end of the Tube goint to the Thorttle Body If it has a CAI look for a Sticker on it or post a PIcture of it and we may be able to tell you if it has a Tune installed for the Computer from the type of CAI on it. BTW is it a Manual or Auto?

Welcome! Already having dual exhaust on it is a plus. Did you take any pictures of the car? Take one of the rear end and of the motor and we can help you out alittle better.

Here are some shots!!!

Sorry about the quality. Cell phone. [:'(]

I just realized one of the tailpipes is hanging lower than the other. Is that something simple to fix?

Sorry about the dumb questions, but I'm totally new to this stuff.

That is a stock air box I would like to see some shots of under the car of the exhaust to see what it is. The tail pipe can be fixed easy but I am wondering why one sets out more then the other/could just be the picture angle. I wonder if they are the same type mufflers. I Wonder if it is a true duel or a Y pipe or H or X pipe. Got to love the Screaming Yellow

I think it just looks off because one is hanging lower than the other.

If it makes any difference the pipes says "Silverline".
