Hi, I'm thinking of buying a nitrous oxide system for my car. The thing is I really don't know what I need for my car to work properly. Can someone explain me in details. I'll really apreciate it. Thanks

Well if you want to run Nitrous you can start with a Zex kit. It has most of the basic's you'll need.
You'll probably want a window switch to insure you don't spray when your not suppose to. You don't want to spray below 2500 rpm and you definetly don't want to bang your rev limiter on the spray.
You should also look into a fuel pressure gauge and nitrous gauage in the car to insure that you're good on both when running.
You should be fine with those few things to start. As long as your running a 50 or 75 shot that should be sufficient. On the larger shot's you'll need to look at fuel pump upgrades and colder plugs etc.

I am new to nitrous, but I have a kit on order. Here is how I see it.
In terms of safety:
- A tune. I see you have a aftermarket intake, so you must have a tune. You'll have to get another tune for nitrous. A nitrous tune will remove about 2 degrees for every 50 hp shot.
That means a 75 shot should pull about 3 degrees of timing. That means your performance while not on the gas will decrease. The more nitrous you use, the more timing has to be pulled. Just get one tune for the street tune and one for the track.
- RPM Window Switch. To make sure you spray at safe RPM. Make sure the kit your buying has one, if not, purchase it separately.
- Nitrous Blow Down Tube. If the bottle overheats the nitrous bottle will not explode, but it will vent in your trunk and possible leak into the cabin. You'll also need an adapter to hook one up to the bottle. Most tracks REQUIRE a blow down tube.
- Fuel Pressure Safety Switch. Automatically turns off the nitrous in case of fuel pump failure.
- Gauges. At minimum most people say fuel pressure. Others will say add bottle pressure and air/fuel ratio.
Performance Enhancements:
- Bottle Warmer. Without a bottle warmer the nitrous will vary wildly. Nitrous pressure decreases with temperature. 85 F is just about perfect at 950 psi. At 60 F the pressure will drop to 675 psi. When you use nitrous the bottle temperature will also drop.
- Purge valve. Brings nitrous up to solenoid so it can be used immediately. Some people recommend venting the line after you have used the system, so the parts will not be under pressure.
Upgrading a fuel pump for nitrous? Never heard that before, is it highly recommended? Im looking to get a 125 shot in a few months and have started my homework.
with a 125 shot you probably don't need to upgrade the pump. However, it would be safe to do so. A simple GT40 pump would be more then adequate for the purpose.

i have a brenspeed tune and HT1 plugs. If i am going to run a 75 shot, do i need to have a retune done to back off timing or can i run that safely on the tune i already have?
also, should i go ahead and invest in some HT0's or should i reserve this new tune and colder plugs for when i take it over 100 shot???

One thing I know. The lower the time get's the harder it becomes to knock off that next 10th. It took me a lot more to get to 10's then it did to 11s. It's taken even more to get into the 9's.
