So i Got a friend giving me a 95 'vert GT for $1500. The body is not rustend but has another cars paint on it but im a body man and im going to change the whole body set up with a kit and another stuff. So i got a bout 2 grand to dump in to the engine. Reading the Mustang magazine i read about the 351 and trying to figure out how much HP woud i be gettin in a stock one? you think i can swap the 302 for the 351 for 2-3k?? And how does the 351 compare to the LS1 engine???? Thanks guys apreciate the info/
i would save up until u can afford to build up a 351 right. a stock 351 will only give u a 50ish hp, but it has TONS more potential. save up for a stroker kit and then swap it in. would u want to keep it EFI? just a warning it will be more expensive and more dificult to keep it EFI.
this is the thing im not a reall good mechanic you know. I mean i hold my own do everything my self but neve have open and got in the engine except for cams and valves. I did a swap in a honda i have and such but not sure if im up to ****in with a real engine like that one. Thanks
engines really arent hard to do at all, especially SBFs. it is all very straight forward and easy to understand. you will just need basic hand tools and a couple specialty tools. i suggest you go get a "how to rebuild a SBF" book and read up before you attack it just to see what is ahead for u
i got a video of a guy going through the assembly process of a ford small block on ebay a while ago. before i got it i wasnt sure if i wanted to build my own engine or not. this video makes it look really easy.
