A Fox Body This Good Is Hard to Find

A Low-Mileage Survivor Mustang GT in This Condition Is a Rare Beast Indeed

This beautiful black-over-grey Fox Body Mustang GT hatch is truly an unmolested, survivor spec car that deserves to be preserved. With just over 44,000 miles on the odometer, this GT hasn’t seen much action. However, this isn’t a preservation concours car, but rather a driver class that can be enjoyed on weekends, a moving time capsule, reminding us of simpler times, when this Fox ruled the roads.

We’ve got serious appreciation for the Fox-generation Mustang. It remains one of the best bang-for-the-buck cars available on the second-hand market. And it responds well to simple modifications. This car has foregone any thought of modification, though, and remains, nearly 30 years later, in almost completely stock condition. We’ve seen far too many of these cars changed to five-lug hubs, with superchargers added, or the interior ripped out and replaced with racing seats and a cage. We love what Mustang fanatics do to their cars, we really do. But because of all of those modified cars terrorizing the streets, it is a refreshing change to see one in such basic, as-delivered condition.

With black exterior paint, grey cloth seats, a sunroof, and a manual transmission, this GT is almost exactly as we would have specified ours to have been built in 1989. This picture-perfect Mustang GT can be yours for just $14K, with a five-dollar bill back in change. It is currently on inventory at Gateway Classic Cars in Illinois, and you can see more photos and read more about the car by visiting RacingJunk.com.
