2016 Shelby GT350 is an Automobile Magazine All-Star
Automobile, the home of people who don’t do boring cars, release a list of cars every year touting their favorites. The list doesn’t care about cost of entry, or performance figures. It’s a list based entire on how a car makes you feel, and that’s something we can get behind. Of the 7 cars that were selected, the Shelby GT350 made the cut.
It’s not difficult to love the Shelby. It has all the components you need to make a proper sports car, including MagneRide magnetorheological ride control dampers, super-sticky tires, and a flat-plane crank V8 engine that screams to over 8,000RPM. But it’s still a Mustang, which is still a car that’s always been a bit more muscle car than sports car. But that seems to all have changed with the latest iteration.
And that’s the sentiment that the Automobile staff seem to share. The Shelby GT350 and GT350 R are finally the proper sports cars that Shelby and Ford have been trying to build. Considering it has the performance of sports cars costing twice as much, the Shelby GT350 sounds great, performs well, and is a bit of a bargain.
Sounds like an all-star to me!
