Richard Petty Mustang Ready for Mecum Auction

It’s clear that racing isn’t the only thing that Richard Petty has a good grasp of. From the looks of this beauty, The King also has a pretty good idea of how to cook up a hot custom version of the new Mustang as well.

Then again, with seven NASCAR Championships under his belt, you’d expect any car Petty touches to be a winner. And this one certainly fits the bill.

In addition to the Petty Blue paint job, the car also packs a number of performance upgrades including a rumbling 600 horses under the hood, according to an Auto Evolution report.

The real kicker is that it can be all yours if you’ve got the right kind of cash to make a bid. Crafted right in the garage of the legendary racecar driver, the Mustang is set to cross the auction block at Mecum, September 16-19 in Dallas. All the proceeds from the car will go to supporting the Paralyzed Veterans of America association.

To top it off, Petty will be personally handing the keys over to the winning bidder for the Mustang.
