For 50th Anniversary, Kids Reunite Parents With Their Old ’65 Mustang

If you own a 1965 Ford Mustang, you know how lucky you are. You know you own the original pony car. You know you own a piece of history.

You can also probably feel the pain of those less fortunate, who, for some reason or another, had to part ways with a ’65. That must be hard.

Ruth and Time Bredahl were certainly bummed when they sold their red ’65 to a relative, some 20 years ago. Especially since they drove the car away from their wedding, which was also a ’65.

But now, thanks to some very loving daughters, the Bredahls just got the best 50th wedding anniversary present you can imagine: the very same 1965 Mustang, fully restored.

As you can see in the tear-jerking KARE 11 News video below, daughters Michelle Wolter and Heather Goetz just made their parents really happy. At the anniversary dinner, they gave their parents a toy replica of a red 1965 Stang; inside, was a very real key.

Apparently Michelle had been thinking about this for while, because she bought the same car ten years ago, but didn’t have enough cash for a proper restoration and had to sell it. The new owner moved it to St. Louis, then to Pittsburgh. She recently got a tip the car had been restored and was still in Pittsburgh, and it was up for sale. Michelle jumped on it. Had it shipped to the Twin Cities, wrapped it in a bow, and presented it to her parents on the day of their 50th anniversary.

Amazingly, they captured the whole thing on video. And it’s guaranteed to make you smile.
