Some car companies don’t care about their heritage, while others care tremendously. But very few car company’s consumers care as much as Ford owners.
Thankfully, Ford caters to this crowd every time they release a new Mustang, in that we get a series of special one offs that the company then auctions off for charity.
Being that this new Mustang will be celebrating the pony cars 50th anniversary, Ford decided to infuse even more retro designs and touches into this one off Anniversary Edition, dubbed the 1,964 edition.
The car sports the performance package, a set of custom alloy wheels that resemble the original cars wheels, a two tone interior, and some very sticky Pirelli P Zero’s. It will also boast a one-off pace car package and signatures from a few different Ford executives including Bill Ford. One little detail I actually quite like is the grill, it sports the original design of the Pony emblem.
The winner will also receive is a VIP trip to the Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Homestead-Miami in November. Hopefully it also comes with a ride in racecar, because that would be awesome!
Over the past few years these one-offs have gone for big money, and with this one being a 50th Edition, expect the same. The one-off Mustang will go up for auction in September at the Barrett Jackson Vegas auction.
