With the ever changing landscape of automotive dalliances, new categories of what makes a gear-head are always popping up. But none have been more disruptive, more raucous, more tire shredding than the world of drifting coming into the social consciousness. It’s a new part of the automotive world that I absolutely love and love talking about. But we’re not going to talk about it, we’re going to watch one of the master’s do it.

This year marks the first year that the Goodwood Festival of Speed has a drifting category in its long standing Hill Climb event. Usually, racecars from every era of motorsport attempt to climb the hill as fast as possible, setting insane lap times. But this year, drifters were allowed into the prestigious event and things got smokey and slidy. Especially since they let in Ken Block and his 850 horsepower Hoonicorn.

That’s right, the Hoonigan Chief brought his absolutely insane Hoonicorn all the way to Englad to show off its AWD drifting skills. And below we have a video of Block kicking this party off right, sideways, and in a cloud of tire smoke.
