Mustang Owners’ Antics Endanger Public on San Francisco Bay Bridge

By -

Joined by a Supra, a pair of Mustangs block traffic on San Francisco Bay Bridge to do donuts and burnouts. Please don’t try this.

There are many, many ways to enjoy your Mustang. There’s the proverbial drag strip, followed by taking it out on the track. There’s also cruising the streets so all can see your ride, and there’s hitting the twisty roads on a glorious, sunny afternoon.

And then, there’s these two who bring shame to the culture. The Daily Mail reports a pair of Mustangs and a white Supra recently blocked off a portion of the Bay Bridge, connecting San Francisco to Oakland, to put on a sideshow.

Mustang Duo Stunting on the Bay Bridge

Taking place August 19 at around 10:45 a.m., the San Francisco branch of the California Highway Patrol rolled up on the sideshow after dispatch “received calls of multiple vehicles on the freeway in the Oakland area engaged in side show activity,” with word the stunting would soon head up to the Bay Bridge.

The two Mustangs were a white SN95 convertible and a silver New Edge coupe, both of which were filmed with the Supra dancing with each other, doing smokey burnouts and leaving donuts all over the Bay Bridge while those closest to the action filmed away. Once the CHP arrived, however, most of the performers made a run for the exit.

Not all escaped, though. According to the CHP, they were able to arrest the driver of the white Mustang, who “will be booked for reckless driving and exhibition of speed and his vehicle impounded for 30 days.” Other vehicles involved in the sideshow “were cited for various mechanical violations,” with one of the cited having their vehicle impounded due to the owner not having their license.

While this stunt may have looked cool, we don’t advocate doing this with your Mustangs. All you’ll end up with is a bunch of angry motorists, a police record, and possibly a smashed pony car.
