Mustang Sales Soar Nearly 200 Percent

Make no mistake about it, the new Mustang is well on its way to being one of Ford’s biggest hits in years.

As a matter of fact, if sales of the Ford pony car even come close to this month’s increase for the remaining three months of 2015, the s550 could very well become the carmaker’s biggest hit in decades.

That, of course, is no small feat, given the string of hot vehicles Ford has produced in the past ten years or so.

The retail sales for the F-Series alone this month has increased nearly 30 percent, according to an official Ford Motor Co. press release. And yet, that doesn’t even begin to come close to the numbers for the new Mustang, which has been unstoppable when it comes to sales.

Although Ford’s retail sales for cars only posted a 15-percent increase overall, sales of the new Mustang increased a whopping 199 percent, with a total of 9,456 cars sold.

That’s the best September for the Ford pony car since 2007.
