Newly Nitrous’d Mustang Goes Hunting in Texas

By -

A little shot of juice is all this Mustang needs to send the competition packing!

Power adders have been around forever, and everyone has their personal favorite. Some like the instant power and primordial whine of a supercharger. Others prefer the surprise kick-you-in-the-pants feel and insane peak power afforded by turbos. But if you want to throw a few hundred extra ponies at your Mustang quickly, easily, and (most importantly) cheaply, nitrous is the answer. Take for example this nitrous-addled S197 Mustang featured by ThatGuyMarin on YouTube.

Just take this bottle-fed late-model Mustang, for example. Wearing a set of Mickey Thompson drag radials and some unknown mods, a bottle in the back seat makes its driver want to head out for some nighttime fun. And what better place to do that than the Texas-based extravaganza known as TX2K? The unholy meeting of speed brings all sorts of interesting competition to the Lone Star state each year to participate in plenty of tire smoking fun.

There’s so much horsepower in attendance that the group jams up a gas station parking lot on the way to the track. So of course, our juiced Mustang gets in a few licks before they hit the track. The first race turns out to be a Mustang on Mustang crime. Then our hero simply walks away from a Camaro. And then, a Corvette wearing a bunch of race car livery. Each time, it rockets out of the hole from a rolling start like some kind of possessed demon emerging from the depths of Hell.

While we don’t exactly condone these sort of public road shenanigans, it’s still an impressive display. And a reminder of what a little shot of nitrous can do for your Mustang. Nobody sits in the back of your car anyway, so why not put that little seat to use?
