Top 5 Most Overrated / Underrated Ford Mustangs of All Time!
From big block bruisers to EcoBoost cruisers and everything in between, these are the five most overrated and underrated Ford Mustangs.
The Ford Mustang has been with us for over 60 years now. To say it has been a popular model would be a massive understatement. During these years we have been blessed with many exceptional performance models. We have also had our fair share of emissions-choked weaklings. Each Ford Mustang has a reputation. It could be for the way it looks, its reliability, its performance or any number of things. Sometimes the Mustang in question is actually better than its reputation would suggest. And other times, the opposite is true. With this in mind, we looked back over the history of the Mustang and came up with a list of the five most overrated and five most underrated Mustangs in history.
As you read our list, there is one thing we want you to keep in mind. Just because we say a Mustang is overrated doesn’t mean it isn’t a good car. It might be an exceptional car. But it may have such a pie-in-the-sky reputation that no car could live up to it. So, with that out of the way, let’s get to our list.
#1 Overrated – Mustang GTD
The Mustang GTD is the greatest Mustang ever. It is the most powerful, the fastest, the quickest and so on. However, it is silly expensive. On top of that, you must be rich AND a social media influencer before Ford deems you worthy of buying one. It also has an interior that was lifted directly from the one-tenth as expensive EcoBoost Mustang. And to top it all off, it is slower than less expensive Corvette ZR1.
