Arkansas Police Arrest Man Named Shelby Mustang GT500

Man named Shelby Mustang GT500 is arrested

Driving without your license, no matter what your name is, will get you arrested if you’re caught.

The name “Shelby Mustang GT500 Miller” is making a run for most ironic automotive-inspired name we’ve ever heard. We know two brothers named “Dodge” and “Dakota.” We know a guy who tattooed the Volkswagen “VW” logo on his forearm. Despite that, “Shelby Mustang GT500” might take the cake.

We came across a news report that provided all of the hard-to-believe details. So, in Arkansas, local police stopped Miller and arrested him for driving with a suspended license, not having proof of insurance, and not wearing a seatbelt. Pretty normal stuff for a guy with a throat tattoo. The report also adds the crucial detail, “Miller wasn’t driving a Shelby Mustang GT 500, according to police.” Our buddy Dakota drove a Dodge Dakota pickup truck. We wouldn’t have been shocked if Miller was driving a Mustang at least. Sadly, they don’t mention what he was driving, just that it wasn’t a GT 500. Apparently, Miller was able to bond out for just $450. It’s not clear if that was his bail, or how much he paid. Typically, the bond amount is about 10% of the total bail.

So, we started to wonder, this guy isn’t 16, he’s 29. What kind of Shelby Mustang GT 500 did mom and dad name him after? After all, there’s no mistaking that name as anything but car-related. We’re thinking his folks were inspired by the classy original GT 500. You know, the 60’s Mustang, the one we’d argue is the most iconic of the pony-car shapes. These things have been a source of inspiration for years, from high-power reproductions to immaculately restored drivers. While we’d love to own a classic Mustang, and can imagine no shortage of things to do with one, we’ll stop short of naming a child after one.
