After this past weekend, there’s certainly no questioning the appeal of a Richard Petty badged Mustang. That and a great cause.

At the recent Mecum Auctions’ sale in Dallas, a 2015 Mustang GT customized by “The King” rode across the auction block, with all the proceeds benefiting Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA). And proceeds it collected, garnering the event’s highest auction sale price, bringing in a whopping $535,000 at the affair.

The Petty Mustang first brought in a $330,000 sale, and then an hour later, an additional $205,000 when the first buyer donated the car back to the PVA and it was auctioned again. All the proceeds from both sales went to the PVA.

As you can see in the video below, the King himself was even on hand to drive the Mustang up to the auction blocks, which I’m sure made the auction even that much more special for the winning bidder, and probably everyone else in attendance too.
