RTR Spec 2 Mustang Scores High Review

Vaughn Gittin Jr. says RTR Spec 2 Mustangs speak for themselves.

Some of the reviews on the 2017 Mustang RTR Spec 2 have started to come in, and the vehicle is scoring some high marks.

Then again, we wouldn’t expect anything less from a Mustang that has gotten the stamp of approval of drifting champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. This most recent report on Gittin’s latest creation comes courtesy of Mark Gearhart at Mustang 360. And he seems pretty darn impressed with the RTR
Spec 2 Mustang.

“The 2017 Mustang RTR Spec 2 is one that scores a 10 out of 10 on the coolness scale,” writes Gearhart.

So, what exactly does that mean? Well, the RTR Spec 2 seems to be more focused on the look of the Mustang, which features unique design elements. That includes a blacked-out RTR grille, 20-inch Tech 7 matte charcoal wheels, and the matte black RTR exhaust.

As Gittin points out during his interview with Gearhart, the goal of the RTR team is to let the Mustangs speak for themselves.

“While building bad ass turnkey vehicles is our passion and priority, we don’t really steer [the consumer to] anything… We let our vehicles, parts and the overall RTR brand speak for itself and let customers choose what makes sense for them […buying parts versus an RTR branded Mustang]. Not everyone will ‘get’ what we are doing and that is fine.”

That said, Gearhart did have one complaint about the RTR Spec 2.

“Perhaps the only negative part about the RTR is its best feature — it drives like a stock Mustang. We love how it handles both rough roads and the turns but it’s simply too tame in the sound department,” he writes.

Hmm… sounds like any easy fix to us.
