Scat Pack vs Fox Body, Which Muscle Car Wins?

The Challenger Scat Pack is a big fun car. Personally, I’ve taken one to the lovely El Mirage dry lakebed and gone 173 miles per hour. It’s hugely impressive, right out of the box. However, it has its problems. Such as it’s the size of an aircraft carrier, it weighs as much as four elephants, and it’s not exactly what you’d call a looker. It is however, fast and noisy. But is it fast enough to beat an almost 30 year old Mustang?

What we have here is a Scat Pack Challenger and its 485 horsepower going up against a Fox Body Mustang that’s had its engine swapped in favor of the new Coyote V8 engine. From the factory, the Coyote makes around 420 horsepower, but combine that with a 2,000 pound weight difference, and those extra 65 horsepower the Challenger carries go completely away.
