Mustang Freed From Tracks Before Train Arrives

Good Samaritans help push a stuck Mustang off the tracks, just before a train comes though

Let this be a good example of why you need snow tires if you drive in winter climates. Portland, Oregon residents saw this scary event unfold in front of their eyes.

A Mustang ends up getting stuck on a set of snow-covered railroad tracks. Ruts created by the rails make the car unable to rock itself free. With help from four good Samaritans, the Mustang gets pushed out of the way, literally seconds before a train roars though.

One of the rescuers points out that the Mustang might not be the best car for these conditions.

“Rear wheel drive, real low sports car, yeah probably not the best to be on these kind of roads,” he tells CarScoops.

However, we disagree. Appropriate tires would most likely have helped this situation, by creating no situation at all. Just remember, you have to wear the right shoe for the occasion. And all-season tires are too much of a compromise to really be any good in the snow.

Close call: Car vs. MAX train

Wow! Close call between a car and a MAX train: When this driver got stuck on the tracks, a few Good Samaritans rushed to push it out of the way moments before the train came through.
