driving lights instead of fog lights

driving lights instead of fog lights
Does any company offer driving lights that can replace the fog lights? I don't mean just replacing the bulbs, I want to replace the whole light bucket with a driving light. I have much more of a need for driving lights than fog lights. ( If my memory is correct, the Shelby's from the 60's had driving lights, not fog lights.)

I'm of the mind that our so called "fog lights" actually are driving lights. I know this because I have driven several times at night with just the "fogs" to see how much light they throw, and I'm of the impression that they throw almost the same amount of light as the main headlamps do.....if not the same amount. I don't think you'll see a significant impovement if you do replace the "fog lights" on the GT's with actual headlamps.

I've always thought that fog lights had the amber lens and the driving lights were clear.

Real driving lights will project ahead almost a 1/4 mile. They will easily project further than the stock headlamps. Most state laws require that they be wired to only come on with the highbeams. They are especially helpful when driving down rural two lane highways at night.

I would prefer to replace the existing fog lights as I rarely would use them. Not much fog here in central Texas. I was hoping someone had heard of an aftermarket replacement that would mount in the same location as the fog lights.
I had Hella driving lights on my last vehicle and used them quite a bit.

I believe the PIAA 520/525 series are supposed to be a near perfect replacement for the stock fogs, you just have to figure out how to attach them 'cos the mount is different.
