Retro Headlights
anyone seen any for sale for the sn197, or has anyone tried to replace theirs with the 60's style? I looked at taking the plastic cover off, but I didn't realize that that would just leave you with an exposed bulb. I would like to try and get the lights to look like the old 60's glass domes.

RE: Retro Headlights
You would have to fab up buckets to put them in after taking the lamp apart. These type of lamps are really hard to get apart without warping parts or lenses. I have put lampe in the oven set at 250 for 3-10 minutes then try to pul them apart. If you really want to do this you need to get the lamps in all their parts from the lamp manafacurer. I have seen mustangs with painted inner bezels, so you can get them apart without ruining them. I have done this on chrysler 300's, dodge rams and HHr's. (coloured the bezel, not put in sealed beam lamps. There is a aiming and performance issue also.

RE: Retro Headlights
If you reallllly wanted to do this. maybe using a classic headlight housing/lens?
I' not sure what the diameter of the current housing is, but if you could find one similar
that would fit.. just maybe. I would imagine that you would need a new corresponding harness
as well. Just a suggestion.

Here is a pic of my Roush mod headlights. The guy that did mine is trying to do a mod just like you guys are talking about. I haven't seen it yet, but he said he was going to sell them on ebay. I've checked a few times and nothing yet.

RE: Retro Headlights
Yeah, I'd love to get ahold of the front end from Foose's Mustang, but I SERIOUSLY doubt individual pieces from that will be available since they're selling the cars for some ridiculous ammounts of money at auctions.
