I live in texas too and I was worried about black. I went ahead and got one and guess what?
At first it was a BITCH. But they have this thing called the MR Clean Autodry system.
That thing cleans the car so easily and I dont even have to dry it.. The water leaves NO spots at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do have to wash it about once a week. Sometimes twice.. I keep it in the garage so mostly only once a week.BUT it only takes me about 15 min with that damn mr clean! It was only like 40 bucs so when I bought it i REALLY doubted it.
But im tellin ya it works great.
I was like oh **** what did I do buying black at first but now Im enjoying the hell outta it.
And when I tell someone I know I got a new stang they are always like .. what color?
I tell them and they ALWAYS say black is the best!.
Stripes yeah not as much choices but there are choices.. you can go white, silver, torch red, or you can go dark red that looks GREAT. You can also go orange to give it a reverse 70 Mach 1 look. which looks great too.
I looked at stripes at first and almost got them... but theres something thats just so sexy about a black sleeper on the road.
Tungsten was just to mild for me. Only way Id have gone tungsten is if I had got black stripes and put some hoodpins on it to make it look modern "old day shelby" looking.
Ive seen a couple like that and they doo look very smooth.
So im not bashin on tungsten at all its great.. But to my taste id only get it as mentioned.
Enjoy your ride... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a silver Mustang GT. I too think that black looks great on this car. I considered black. I didn't buy black because of the aforementioned reasons. Black shows everything. If you do buy black, also buy a California Duster; great product. I'm a busy guy and don't have lots of time to detail. If you do, buy the black.

I agree with you totally on the purple look. The 05 metalic gray (whatever the name0was GREAT! the 06 Tungsten is bad. Of those 2, I'd say black. My choices were blue or Black. I went with blue, because it was the only one the way I wanted. (Now the 05 blue is more purple and I don't like it)
