Please show me your rear panels!
Please show me pictures of your real panels between the tail lights. I am trying to determine if I want to add a plastic panel or just paint the area black. Back when I was a young fella I bought a brand new 1969 Mach I with 351 Windsor and Automatic. It had the black hood with real hood pins and a scoop. I removed the tail lights and spray painted the area between the lights. If memory serves me well it looked pretty good. If you painted this area please tell me what kind of paint you used and the finish. By that I mean flat, satin, gloss, etc. If I paint it and it looks bad I can just add a plastic panel over the paint. I guess.

A friend had a 1969, wasn't a Mach, it wasn't stock either, had a 289 built up, racing cam, dual feed Holley 4 barrel, headers, and that thing flew. It was black and we painted the area between the tail lights gold with a spray can -- came out pretty good too. Unfortunately, after an at home tune up he blew the engine. We replaced it with another 289 from a 1966 (we pulled it from that car and I towed the rest home to pull parts for my 1965 convertible) - but we never got the wiring right and couldn't start it with the key so we hot wired it.
