Attempting to fit '69 front spoiler to V6 S197
The front of the V6 Mustang looks so like the front end of the '69 Mustang I have been contemplating trying to fit the '69 front spoiler to the car. Undoubtedly the '69 spoiler will be wider and require some cutting to adjust it. Does anyone have any knowledge of a process by which the reattaching of the pieces could be accomplished or know of a glue that can handle the job?
Randy at Dallas Mustang is going to let me fit one tomorrow so I will have a better idea of the fit, but I'm thinking I will need to cut both ends in order to leave the mounts in position, then reattach the ends. Dmhines, here are the pictures of the spoiler. the fit is close and I think it might work so I bought one to mess with. I was surprised as I thought it would be wider than the S197, but it is almost too short. As you can see there is a bit of a gap at the ends, but the spoiler is flexible enough that I think this can be overcome. It is going to require some reinforcement behind the bumper cover for support.

RE: Attempting to fit '69 front spoiler to V6 S197
Hmmm .. looks like a pretty big gap ... perhaps if you angle it down more the gap will close. Please post pictures of the finished product if you get it to fit. Wonder if any other years would fit differently ..... Perhaps if we start an email campaign to Cervini they will make a v6 version of their boss spoiler ... their spoiler has the perfect look. I'm also wondering if the Cervini GT spoiler would be easier to get to work on the V6 than the 1969 Spoiler would ...
